Note, While we still use the dam to adjust or maintain water levels, and inspections will continue to be done at the dam, the water level measurements will be taken at the bridge going forward.

6/27/18 9:40 am Local rain gauges showed up to 3 inches of rain last night.

6/27/18 9:40 am  Local rain gauges showed up to 3 inches of rain last night.  Burlington 1.7 inches, Pell Lake 3 inches.  The Dam gauge is 2.1 Water Level 829.05  The water level at the Bridge is 829.23  This is right on the border of Slow No Wake but as of this time that is not imposed.

6/18/18 6pm Dam at 1.96 828.91 Bridge at 829 Bob T. took out the 6 inch board that had been in the dam. More rain coming

6/18/18 6pm Dam at 1.96 828.91  Bridge at 829  Bob T. took out the 6 inch board that had been in the dam.  More rain coming.  One of the risks of keeping the water level so high is that it reduces the ability of the land and marsh around the lake to absorb heavy rains because they are already very saturated.  The red clip on this gauge indicates the approximate Historic High Water Mark per the WDNR.

Also the lock on the Stop Log Channel in the Dam is still not locked which will allow anyone who wanted to remove the 6 inch board to do so.

6/3/2018  Gauge 1.84  Water Level  828.79   Water level is only 2.5 inches from the Historic high as defined by the WDNR.  The lock on the dam was left unlocked meaning anyone could put in or take out boards.
