8/1/2020 Bridge gauge at 828.64

The 4 inch board was removed from the dam and replaced with the 6 inch board per the practices established by the Lake District Board.

The 6 inch board will remain in the dam until the Bridge gauge reads 2.0 or a water level of 829.0
Readings will continue to be taken roughly the 1st and the 15th of each month.  District members are welcome to submit pictures between times if it appears the gauge is above 2.0

Two special measurements taken 7/22 and 7/27

On 7/22 based on a picture shared with the Board, a reading was taken at bridge the gauge.  The reading had dropped to 1.62 which is below the 1.65 threshold to put a stop log in the dam.

That day the 4 inch log was put in the dam.  Due to further concerns on 7/27 expressed by a Board member another reading was taken.  The reading on the morning of 7/27 is slightly over 1.76 or a water level of 828.76.

If the water recedes to 1.65 by the next scheduled reading on 8/1 the 4 inch board will be replaced with the 6 inch board.

I have no idea why there is a rope inside the culvert going from end to end.

Lots of rain at the end of April.  May 1st water level 829.68 at the Bridge

Water flowing around left side of dam and trickling over the top of the entire dam.  There was a large tree branch in the dam but it was not slowing the flow much.  It is now removed.

3/31/2020 What a change in a month!

3/31/2020 What a change in a month!

On March 4th, the Bridge gauge read a reasonable 1.68 for a lake level of 828.68.  The the rains started coming.
On March 11th the Bridge gauge read 2.04 for a lake level of 829.04
Today, March 31st the Bridge gauge reads 2.37 for a lake level of 829.37 or nearly 4 1/2 inches over the top of our WDNR range.

This is all happening with no boards in the dam since September 10, 2019

For reference, 3/31/2019 was 2.08 or 829.08 or more than 4 inches lower than today.

(The APPROXIMATE Slow No Wake level is 829.22)

We could be in for a very wet spring on the lake.

Below is a picture at the dam from March 4th
